Clean and great service. The chile rellenos (red and green chili) reminded me of the way my mom makes them...Sonoran style.
Great food. Navajo taco is HUGE and yummy basically a gordita softer fried dough beneath a taco salad. Bathrooms are a little sketchy, food will come a little slow, also the enchiladas came out piping hot! Like burn your mouth hot! But they were pretty good once cooled down. Knocked one star for those.
My wife got a taco salad and I got the chimichanga. The food was great and if you understand going in that it is going to be an hour wait to get your food after you order and you are not in a hurry or too hungry, then relax and enjoy. Otherwise I would go to get fast food elsewhere. If the food had come timely in 20-30 minutes I would have given 5stars, but an hour later maybe it should be 3 stars.
Great mexican food, hearty portions, good service, tasty margaritas. Perfect relaxed place to stop for a bite on the road. Lots of locals eating here, which always means the food is good. Glad we stopped.
Okay, but the green Chile plate was to spicy without of flavor, just spicy. The red salsa was really good, lots of flavor
Romo's was awesome! Very accommodating and the service was great. The food was delicious with reasonable prices.
Ate here on March 2nd. Staff was friendly, prompt, and attentive. My husband had a margarita that was really good. He had the taco plate and I had the combo plate. The food was good but didn't really wow us. That's why the four star review.
Wow..a hidden treasure of good Mexican home cooked food served hot, tasty....outstanding service. Plenty of food on my combination 1 with red chile. Also ordered a cup of red chile and it was very nice in flavor, no meat, cooked nicely and good with the tortilla chips and salsa that come with the meal.Fair price good value
I travel the I 40 corridor 4 times a year and a always make sure to stop at Romo's Mexican, everything is freshly made, and always good. Sometimes takes a while if bust but you won't be disappointed Recommendation from local Vet All locals here, including some colorful characters. Picture is 2 enchiladas and TacoExit 287, and you are 2 min away.
You should stop and eat here!! Stopped here on our way home from Albuquerque after reading the reviews. SO GLAD WE DID!! The table salsa was so good we asked if they had jars for sale 😁 Husband had the HUGE beef chimichanga with green chili enchilada sauce. He said it was the best he has had in a very long time. I had the taco plate with chicken. The tacos were good and the beans were too, the rice.. skip it; super mushy. The kiddo had a chicken sandwich. The chicken was moist and all the toppings were fresh and good quality bun; fries were so good we stole a few😁
So good, mouth watering menu. Great people running the place. Perfect spot for an amazing meal. Great service. Complimentary chips and salsa are so fresh. Must try!
We had the green chile Navajo tacos and they were amazing. Marla was awesome.
Outstanding service, excellent food and beverages, extremely reasonable pricing. I tried the prickly pear margarita, and liked it so much I had another. Chicken taco salad was perfect portion -- not ginormous, not tiny. Chicken was juicy, produce was extremely fresh. I adored the salsa, which they thoughtfully served in mini carafes! Cute setting, I was comfortable sitting alone, but this would also be a great place for larger groups. If you're in Holbrook, this is a great place to eat.
Excellent food. Quaint location. Quiet town. Fair price. Great service. Definitely a five star experience. Wish this restaurant was closer to home!
This relatively unassuming restaurant is by far one of the best Mexican restaurants in Arizona! We went in last night half an hour before they close and they were more then accommodating! Didn't rush us at all and the food was top-notch. Excellent red sauce on the enchiladas and the tacos were generously filled. The margarita were some of the best I've had in a restaurant.
Good food, nice staff, could work on their pandemic protocols.
After I had cooled down the molten hot food that was served to me I had discovered that it lacked any semblance of flavor. We tried two different plates, and both were increasingly disappointing. Our questions about the food and the overly priced menu were met with slight disdain. We thought that a Mexican restaurant in a state bordering Mexico would have decent food. But we were sorely disappointed. I’ve had better Mexican food in Canada.
The atmosphere felt welcoming and casual. The service was cheerful, friendly and efficient. My Chicken Chimi was great: large portion, deep fried just right with a wonderful green chili sauce and homemade guacamole. Everything about the experience was awesome.
This place is horrible. The salsas are too spicy with 0 flavor and our food was disgusting. On their menus it says that they make everything fresh, none of that food was fresh. Store-bought guacamole tastes better than whatever this “guacamole” was. We hope we don’t get sick from eating here.
Good location, friendly service but they were out of many things and the food was just ok. It's a very nice family atmosphere and might be the best place in town.
